Appointments are by physician referral only. When arriving for your appointment, you must first register at the Outpatient Registration desk, located in the Medical Mall on the first floor.
RCRMC’s rehabilitative services department accepts Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care Medi-Cal, Exclusive Care, Worker’s Compensation and the Medically Indigent Services Program (MISP).
When coming to your appointment, please remember this important information:
- Wear clothing that will allow you to exercise
- Bring your Medi-Cal or insurance card
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to register
- Children (unless they are the patient) must be supervised by an adult at all times in the waiting area
Physical Therapy Department - (951) 486-4240
Physical therapy is the provision of services to help develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan, or where movement and function are threatened by the process of aging, injury or disease. Staff includes a therapist paneled by California Children’s Services (CCS), an orthopedics clinical specialist, and a certified wound specialist.
Inpatient physical therapy Inpatient therapists provide objective assessment and develop an individual treatment plan for each patient in physical rehabilitation, which includes bed mobility, transfer trains, balance training, neurological rehabilitation and gait training. The physical therapist also assists patient and family in determining a discharge plan.
Outpatient physical therapy Therapists conduct a subjective examination of a patient’s medical history and objective assessment. An individual treatment plan will be developed and follow-up therapy session scheduled with physician order and insurance authorization.
Occupational Therapy Department - (951) 486-4240
Occupational therapy refers to the use of meaningful occupations to assist people who have difficulty achieving occupationally balanced lives. Occupational therapists work with people following physical ill health or disability to enable them to maximize their abilities. Occupational therapists provide the skills necessary for living meaningful and satisfying lives. Staff includes a therapist paneled by CCS and a certified hand therapist.
Inpatient occupational therapy Inpatient therapists provide objective assessment and develop an individual treatment plan for each patient aimed at improving the patient’s ability to perform daily activities, or work with patients to come up with strategies, techniques or adaptations so that they can be as independent as possible.
Outpatient occupational therapy Therapists conduct a subjective examination of a patient’s medical history and objective assessment. An individual treatment plan will be developed and follow-up therapy session scheduled with physician order and insurance authorization.
Speech Therapy Department - (951) 486-4240
Speech-language pathology is the study of disorders that affect a person’s speech, language, cognition, voice disorders and swallowing disorders. Speech-language pathologists address people’s speech productions, vocal production, swallow difficulties and language needs through speech therapy. Staff includes a therapist highly trained in the Modified Barium Swallow study and a CCS paneled therapist.
Inpatient speech therapy Therapists provide objective assessment and develop an individual treatment plan on corrective treatment of physical and/or cognitive deficits/disorders resulting in difficulty with communication and/or swallowing.
Outpatient speech therapy Speech-language pathologists conduct a subjective examination of a patient’s medical history and objective assessment. An individual treatment plan will be developed and follow-up therapy session scheduled with physician order and insurance authorization.
